So. It was historically inaccurate, but that was okay.

The battle scenes were slow, but that was fine.

Except Takeshi Kaneshiro playing Zhuge Liang was like having Orlando Bloom play John Boyd. I know Ben Affleck played Jack Ryan once, but at least Jack Ryan was a fictional character.

Gah. John Woo. That's what happens when you replace doves with hummingbirds. (Yes, there were still doves/pigeons but they just ate and took baths. Except of course, for the mechanical pigeon scout. That was just funny.)

The next time some middle-management client whose boss is out of the country asks a messenger, secretary or random assistant to comment on any of my ads, and then ask us to revise them according to the comments, I will have the maids do the revisions. Especially the ads which have briefs that state: TARGET MARKET: AB, HIGH NET WORTH INDIVIDUALS OR CORPORATE INVESTMENT DECISION MAKERS.

Promise.

Rick Astley is less annoying twenty years later. Thank you, rickrollers. Still sounds like Roderick Paulate though. Maybe should roderickroll them next year.

I so love governments who respond to backward evolution.

England's concern for its citizens warms the shackles of my heart.

I am sitting dazedly in front of the computer, manically marking off  888  peso flights to Hanoi, Shanghai, KL, Taipei and Hongkong for April and May while laughing at a picture of Andy Lau and Vaness Wu looking very serious with orinolas on their heads.

Which Historical Lunatic Are You?
From the fecund loins of Rum and Monkey.

Nah, can't be. Just because I like San Francisco and the Chinese, my friends and other nice people buy me food, drive me places, give me money for stuff, buy me clothes, and humor all my delusions, while I reward them with philosophical discussions, silly stories and fictional titles---

Oh. Right. Always said I liked power without responsibility.

It's not really a bad way to live, as long as you don't mind people calling you crazy. Especially since you end up in what I honestly think is the best volume of Neil Gaiman's Sandman series.

Not bad at all.

It's getting old, this habit of turning liars and thieves into heroes, just because their lying and thievery are of a slightly lesser degree than that of those whom we are so desperate to knock off their thrones.

I suppose it is only human to want to protect someone whose life is threatened, never mind that they are there, because in a fit of stupid braggadocio, they couldn't shut up, talked until they painted themselves into a corner, and became the hunted and threatened. But to make them out to be heroes, well, that is both stupid and insulting.

Forty million pesos may not be a lot compared to 130 million dollars. But I have seen people jailed for stealing food for their family's dinner, and it was still considered robbery. And while a thief is a thief, and a liar is a liar, and they do deserve to live, they do not deserve to be called heroes, and worse, be elected or appointed into office.

He says he isn't running.

In 2010, remember what happened the last time we elected someone who said she wasn't going to run, too.

So there's this abc news article on retail therapy that says sadness increases spending, and most recovering eating disorder patients turn into compulsive shoppers.

Damn it. Someone got paid for that study and it wasn't me? Life is so unfair.

Must go shopping.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

According to the email astroscope which I do not even remember signing up for, I will be this cranky until February 14.

Maybe I should get out of town.

I wonder if Andy's up to taking a 12-hour trip back to my caves.

Nah.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
